Overview:
ITC Federal is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. This position is critical to ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and networks, supporting high-impact government contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, a deep understanding of security best practices, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain security solutions to protect organizational data and systems.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Monitor security events and respond to incidents in a timely and effective manner.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on security-related issues.
• Stay current with emerging security threats and trends, and recommend improvements to security controls.
• Support compliance with relevant security standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
• Experience with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM.
• Experience with cloud security and DevSecOps practices.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or HIPAA.
