Position Details
• Job Title: Hardware Development Engineer
• Location: Sunnyvale, CA
• Work Arrangement: Full-time, Onsite
• Salary Range: $119,000 - $162,000
• Clearance Requirement: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Hardware Development Engineer to join a team developing advanced positioning, navigation, and timing solutions for aerospace and defense applications. In this role, you'll own the complete hardware development lifecycle, from concept and architecture through production release and long-term product support.
This is an opportunity to work on highly reliable, mission-critical products that operate in demanding environments while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams across hardware, software, systems, manufacturing, and quality.

Salary Range: $119,000 - $162,000
Work Arrangement: Full-time, Onsite
Clearance Requirement: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

What You'll Do
• Design and develop complex digital, analog, RF, and power circuit boards
• Create schematics and participate in PCB layout reviews
• Perform hardware simulation, verification, validation, and testing activities
• Conduct board bring-up, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
• Evaluate signal integrity and overall system performance
• Develop and support Board Support Packages (BSPs) for processor and microcontroller platforms
• Integrate FPGA-based designs into complex hardware systems
• Collaborate with software, firmware, systems, manufacturing, and quality teams
• Create engineering documentation to support development, certification, and production
• Provide sustaining engineering support throughout the product lifecycle

What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• Experience developing embedded hardware systems from concept through production
• Strong background in embedded software development using Embedded C
• Experience with multithreaded embedded systems
• Hands-on experience with:
○ Digital, analog, RF, and power electronics design
○ Schematic capture and board-level design
○ Hardware debugging and bring-up activities
○ Signal integrity analysis and troubleshooting
• Experience with high-speed interfaces and technologies such as:
○ ADCs (Analog-to-Digital Converters)
○ Memory interfaces
○ SERDES (Serializer/Deserializer) architectures
○ FPGA-based systems
• Ability to work effectively on complex technical challenges within regulated engineering environments
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with GPS or GNSS technologies
• Aerospace, aviation, or defense industry experience
• FPGA development experience using:
○ VHDL
○ Verilog
• Experience developing products requiring certification, compliance, or regulatory approval
• Familiarity with both CISC and RISC processor architectures
