Position Overview The Joint Exercise Event SME will support the design, planning, execution, and assessment of seminars, tabletop exercises, wargames, and related activities. This role requires deep expertise in joint operations and a strong ability to coordinate complex exercise events that advance strategic mission objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, plan, and lead seminars, tabletop exercises, wargames, and similar events in support of organizational and mission requirements.
• Develop exercise concepts, scenarios, objectives, and evaluation criteria aligned with strategic goals.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, senior stakeholders, and mission partners to ensure exercise realism, accuracy, and value.
• Provide subject matter expertise on joint operations, strategic planning, and exercise development.
• Analyze exercise outcomes, prepare after-action documentation, and deliver recommendations to improve future events.
• Support USSTRATCOM-related mission areas and contribute to broader strategic initiatives as required.
Required Experience & Qualifications
• Minimum of 7 years of experience designing, planning, and leading seminars, tabletop exercises, wargames, or similar projects.
• Experience in one or more of USSTRATCOM's assigned missions and operations at the Combatant Command (CCMD), Joint Staff, or Service MAJCOM level.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex exercise events and collaborate with senior military and civilian personnel.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
