Job Description
About the Job
At cb5, we are on a mission to find exceptional talent. Our tight-knit organization is led by five brothers, each technology leaders in their respective technical fields and driven to foster a culture of excellence through solidarity.
We are seeking a Project Manager to run delivery on a Department of Defense enterprise asset management modernization program. This role supports a U.S. Government customer and is fully remote within the continental United States.
The program migrates a large IBM Maximo environment to Maximo Application Suite 9.1 on a government cloud platform across a forty-two week period of performance. You will be the single point of accountability to the prime contractor and the operating rhythm for a small senior delivery team. cb5 is a service delivery organization first, and this role is where that shows.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will own schedule, risk, scope discipline, deliverable quality, and the customer relationship.
You will:
- Run the agile operating cadence, including daily standups, sprint planning, sprint demonstrations, and retrospectives across a forty-two week program.
- Maintain the integrated master schedule, expressed as durations from award so the plan stays valid regardless of start date.
- Own risk and issue management, tracking platform and Government dependencies as named-owner items rather than absorbing them silently.
- Hold the scope baseline and run change control, including formal change records with effort and schedule impact assessed before work proceeds.
- Manage and quality assure twenty-four contract deliverables across two requirement sections, ensuring each is drafted, reviewed, and submitted against its stated acceptance criteria.
- Track and drive the Government approval gates that sit on the critical path, including the functional baseline, functional equivalency, modernization plan, data reconciliation, and user acceptance sign-off.
- Coordinate platform onboarding, credentialing, and environment access provisioning with the customer, and report schedule impact where turnaround slips.
- Lead cutover coordination, including data freeze communications, change advisory board approvals, go and no-go criteria, and the rollback decision path.
- Establish the support model and service desk integration, including incident and problem categories, routing, and service levels for transition to sustainment.
- Coordinate role-based training scheduling across six audiences with the Government training counterpart.
- Report status to the prime contractor on an agreed cadence and serve as the primary interface for delivery.
Qualifications
- Must have 7, or more, years of project or program management experience delivering enterprise application or system integration programs.
- Must have managed at least one enterprise application implementation, migration, or modernization from initiation through production deployment.
- Must have experience managing formal contract deliverables and customer acceptance gates.
- Must have experience running agile or iterative delivery, including sprint cadence, backlog management, and demonstration-based feedback.
- Must have experience managing schedule, risk, and change control on a government or regulated program.
- Must be comfortable working directly with government customers and prime contractor stakeholders.
- Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (for example Security+).
- Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be a U.S. citizen residing in the continental United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience with IBM Maximo or another enterprise asset management platform.
- Experience with IT service management practices and service transition.
- Experience on Department of Defense programs, particularly those with property accountability or financial audit readiness requirements.
- Agile certification such as Certified ScrumMaster or SAFe.
