We are seeking a Maximo Functional Analyst, also described as a Business Systems Analyst, to define, document, and validate business capability on a Department of Defense enterprise asset management modernization program. This role supports a U.S. Government customer and is fully remote within the continental United States.
This is the role that decides what the system has to do and proves it does it. The legacy environment carries no as-built documentation, so the functional baseline is established through observation, elicitation, and validation with the users who run the business today.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will author the analysis and test products that define and prove the delivered capability.
You will:
- Establish the approved business functionality baseline and run Government validation workshops to confirm it.
- Author the Test Plan, including the schedule and the entry and exit criteria for each test phase.
- Author the Test Scripts covering functional, migration, reconciliation, interface, and cost testing.
- Support the Functional Equivalency Matrix through Government review, comment disposition, and approval, and maintain traceability from matrix entries to test results and user validation.
- Author the Modernization Plan, run the disposition workshops that assign every legacy customization a retire, replace, reconfigure, or rebuild outcome, and support Government approval.
- Perform the cost assessment identifying current costing methods across storerooms and item master, and author the Inventory Cost Conversion Plan.
- Author the cutover plan and runbook, including the data freeze model and the rollback path.
- Author the Hypercare Plan and define the post go-live release cadence.
- Lead user acceptance testing support, including preparation, execution support, daily defect triage, and the Test Results Report.
- Participate in functional verification ahead of user acceptance testing, working documented test scripts end to end against migrated data alongside developers and key users.
Qualifications
- Must have 5, or more, years of business analysis or functional analysis experience on enterprise applications.
- Must have hands-on functional experience with IBM Maximo or a comparable enterprise asset management or ERP platform.
- Must have authored formal test plans and test scripts, and led or supported user acceptance testing.
- Must have experience eliciting requirements directly from business users, including facilitation of workshops and validation sessions.
- Must have experience documenting current-state and future-state business processes.
- Must be able to write clearly enough for formal customer deliverables that go through government review and approval.
- Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (for example Security+).
- Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be a U.S. citizen residing in the continental United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Maximo inventory, asset management, property accountability, or work management functional areas.
- Experience with inventory costing methods and valuation.
- Experience with government property accountability or financial audit readiness requirements.
- Experience with requirements traceability tooling.
- IIBA or equivalent business analysis certification.
