POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position supports the Joint Multiple Effects Warhead System (JMEWS) Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) and the All-Up-Round (AUR) Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE). The primary responsibilities of the position will be to execute APMSE duties in support of the JMEWS ACAT III program. Duties include identifying potential problems, coordinating specific engineering competency solutions, conducting meetings and conferences, reviewing and commenting on technical data generated during the Engineering and Manufacturing Development thru Full Rate Production phases, engineering change proposals, preliminary specification change notices, preparing/reviewing contractor data requirements lists when required, AUR integration and other duties as assigned. Emphasis on systems engineering experience with requirements management, decomposition, and verification.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Assisting the JMEWS IPTL, Missile Systems IPTL, and AUR APMSE, with identifying & developing systems engineering and AUR integration requirements.
- Ensuring these requirements are addressed throughout program development, integration, and test.
- Developing and updating system interface control documents (ICDs).
- Managing & coordinating with NAVAIR Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Prime Contractor representatives as required for technical data, Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) development, review & approval, and the review & approval of Technical Data Package (TDP) deliverables.
- Provides technical support for Statement of Work (SOW) development; conducting Engineering Investigations; providing technical leadership in responding to test and integration deficiencies.
- Coordinating system safety authorization (WSESRB).
- Coordinate, inform, and communicate efforts with various competencies, IPT members, contractors, subcontractors, and naval field activities.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:
- Position requires semi-frequent travel (CONUS) as needed to support various working groups, test events, integration efforts, etc. Not to exceed 40 hours per month (one week).
EXPERIENCE:
- At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position. Demonstrated knowledge in an area of engineering expertise is required.
Highly desired:
- Team assignment progression of increasing responsibility involving direct interaction with program/project office & engineering disciplines in application of systems engineering, safety, airworthiness, acquisition, and program management processes,
- Multiple team leadership roles leading multi-discipline teams,
- 3 to 5 years of proven sustained performance in a relevant subsystem SE (i.e. APMSE) role,
- 3 to 5 years of relevant Naval Aviation experience in an engineering discipline,
- APMSE rotational assignments.
EDUCATION:
- MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Allowable Substitution: BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted for a MS or MA degree. These four (4) years of experience are in addition to the required minimum of ten (10) years to meet the experience requirement, requiring a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.
SECURITY:
- Active TS//SCI clearance with current background investigation is desired.
- At minimum, Active Top-Secret clearance with current background investigation is required.
