Position Summary:
JGMS Government Services is seeking an experienced Engineering Assessor to conduct an independent review and audit of our client's Engineering Manual. The selected candidate will assess the manual and associated engineering practices for compliance with DOE directives, ISO standards, applicable engineering requirements, industry standards, and recognized best practices. The position is primarily remote, with possible meetings in Grand Junction or Westminster, Colorado. The assignment will begin upon award and continue through September 30, 2026.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in developing a documented engineering audit plan.
- Lead an opening meeting with management to explain the audit scope, schedule, and methodology.
- Evaluate the Engineering Manual for compliance with:
- DOE directives and requirements
- ISO standards
- Applicable engineering requirements
- Industry standards and regulatory expectations
- Review client engineering practices, procedures, manuals, records, data, and supporting documentation.
- Conduct interviews with engineering and management personnel as part of the assessment.
- Assess engineering design controls, configuration management processes, and risk-informed practices.
- Benchmark current engineering practices against industry standards and recognized best practices.
- Review engineering procedures and configuration management manuals provided for the audit.
- Determine the relevance, applicability, and proper use of all data and documentation provided.
- Conduct a closing meeting with management to present the audit findings.
- Assist in preparing a draft assessment report for review by the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Incorporate applicable comments and revisions into the final audit report.
- Submit the finalized assessment report by the required project deadline.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- At least 10 years of professional engineering experience.
- At least five years of experience managing an engineering department.
- Demonstrated familiarity with CAD and other engineering design software.
- Advanced problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate written procedures and recognize appropriate procedural direction and management practices.
- Ability to review technical documents, engineering records, and management systems objectively.
- Ability to conduct personnel interviews and communicate findings to management.
- Ability to manage multiple audit activities and meet firm reporting deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.

- Physical engineering experience.
