Job Description

Five Rivers Analytics an Akima company is looking for Chief of Support to support the Satellite Control Network Operations, Remote Site and Mission Partner Support (STORMS) contract in New Boston, NH. The Chief of Support (COS) serves as the senior site support manager responsible for directing maintenance, logistics, communications, engineering coordination, documentation, and mission support activities at an assigned Satellite Control Network (SCN) tracking station. The COS ensures contractor personnel perform assigned functions in accordance with the STORMS Performance Work Statement (PWS), Technical Orders (TOs), Operating Instructions (OIs), Air Force and Space Force directives, and contractual requirements.

The Chief of Support provides leadership for maintenance, logistics, and engineering personnel; serves as the primary interface with Government leadership for site support activities; coordinates installation, modification, and sustainment efforts; and ensures mission readiness while maintaining compliance with operational, safety, cybersecurity, and quality standards. The position also serves as acting Chief of Operations (COO) in the COO's absence, as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all maintenance, logistics, engineering, and site support activities supporting assigned SCN operations.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel and ensure compliance with the STORMS PWS, Technical Orders, Operating Instructions, and Government directives.
  • Monitor mission systems and respond to equipment outages, maintenance issues, and operational impacts.
  • Review outage reports and coordinate corrective actions through the Maintenance Operations Center (MOC).
  • Coordinate Level II technical assistance and depot-level maintenance support as required.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs).
  • Review, approve, and submit AFTO Form 22s, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and associated technical documentation.
  • Ensure technical libraries, Technical Orders, engineering drawings, and mission documentation remain current and accessible.
  • Coordinate engineering modifications, hardware/software installations, system acceptance testing, and turnover activities.
  • Oversee logistics support, supply accountability, PQDR submissions, and TMDE program management.
  • Coordinate site visits, maintenance windows, system outages, and mission partner support activities.
  • Interface daily with Government leadership, Mission Partners, engineering organizations, and supporting contractors.
  • Prepare written reports, briefings, metrics, and status updates for company and Government leadership.
  • Support the Chief of Operations during absences or as directed.

Qualifications

  • Must hold and maintain a current active secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
  • Additional directly related experience may be substituted for formal education.
  • Minimum five (5) years of Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) or equivalent satellite operations experience.
  • Experience supervising technical personnel within a Government or DoD environment.
  • Experience supporting maintenance, logistics, engineering, or satellite communications operations.
  • Experience working directly with Government customers and military personnel.
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance management.
  • Engineering change process.
  • Technical Orders.
  • SCN maintenance documentation.
  • ESD, ROADS, IMDS.
  • Configuration management.
  • Depot maintenance coordination.
  • Logistics and supply management.
  • Mission planning and outage coordination.
