The Electronics Technician, Maintenance III applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering; changes. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, installing wiring in aircraft for T2 Modifications, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians. May be given the responsibility for a system isolated from the direct higher-level supervisor. Will usually be required to provide guidance, training, and work direction to lower level technicians.

• The Electronics Technician will be working specifically with the TSPI Pod Support government technicians at their back shop located on main base.
• Will be required to Perform/accomplish Common Range Integrated Instrumentation System (CRIIS & Advanced Range Data System (ARDS) pods configuration, maintenance, troubleshoot, functional checkout and data recovery for test mission support.
• Maintain/configure/collect data for Common Range Integrated Instrumentation System (CRIIS) and Advance Range Data System (ARDS) pods.
• Perform a wide variety of technical assignments and flight line support for CRIIS/ARDS preflight and post-flight at Eglin, Tyndall and TDY test mission support locations.
• Perform custodian duties of CRIIS/ARDS assets and resources in RAMPOD.
• Functional check and maintenance for Common Range Integrated Instrumentation System (CRIIS & Advanced Range Data System (ARDS) pods instrumentation systems to measure and record test parameters in a variety of field or laboratory conditions.
• Evaluate installed CRIIS/ARDS instrumentation equipment capability against test objectives and environmental conditions to determine if equipment meets required specifications for scheduled test missions.
• Provide mission support including electrical wiring fabrication/modification and support efforts for test program instrumentation requirements.

Job Requirements

Other functions include assisting in the orientation and training of other technicians at this level when directed by the government supervisor or lead government technician. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste. Other duties include general housekeeping, tool control and other job-related tasks determined by the lead government technician.

Must be a technical or service school graduate in electronics and have five years' experience as an Electronic Technician. Must possess a general knowledge of electronic component characteristics to aid in the selection of replacement components and devices. Knowledge of other trades such as the mechanical skills necessary to repair and modify servo systems, pedestal-drive systems, waveguide installations, and optics associated with laser and camera systems a plus. Must be thoroughly familiar with the operation of test instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, frequency measuring equipment, and other related measurement instruments.

This position may require TDY travel and overtime as well as possible shift re-assignments. Applicants must be able to obtain flight line access and driving privileges. Aircraft electrical maintenance experience and knowledge is required. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives; observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

May perform work assignments in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment. Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments in heat or cold with exposure to the conditions typical of various work locations.

Required to climb, bend, stoop, lift up to 70 pounds, pull, or carry heavy items.
