Job Description
About the Job
At cb5, we are on a mission to find exceptional talent. Our tight-knit organization is led by five brothers, each technology leaders in their respective technical fields and driven to foster a culture of excellence through solidarity. We are seeking a Maximo Functional Consultant to serve as a member of an enterprise asset management modernization team.
This position requires deep hands-on experience with IBM Maximo functional design, inventory and property accountability business processes, depot maintenance operations, and the migration of a heavily customized Maximo 7.6 environment to IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9.1. You will own the functional baseline, drive user acceptance testing, and make sure no business capability is lost in the move.
This position supports a Department of War customer at Patrick Space Force Base and Vandenberg Space Force Base. The role is primarily remote with periodic travel to customer locations.
Key Responsibilities
The candidate will:
· Lead functional discovery across Inventory, Assets, Property Accountability, and Depot Maintenance, documenting current-state business processes and future-state MAS 9.1 design.
· Develop and maintain the Functional Equivalency Matrix, mapping each legacy capability to its MAS replacement with a defined validation method and acceptance criteria.
· Document and preserve all inventory processes including single issue, bulk issue, direct issue, returns, transfers, reservations, receiving, cycle counts, physical inventory, reconciliation, and storeroom operations.
· Define asset lifecycle and property accountability requirements covering asset creation, transfer, retirement, serialized tracking, custodian chain of custody, location history, and parent/child relationships.
· Define depot maintenance requirements covering work requests, work orders, PM records, job plans, labor tracking, material tracking, scheduling, and cost reporting.
· Support inventory cost conversion by identifying current costing methods, validating source-to-target cost mappings, and reviewing variance analysis to a 100% reconciliation standard.
· Configure MAS 9.1 using IBM-supported methods including Application Designer, Database Configuration, domains, conditional expressions, and workflows.
· Author test scripts, lead user acceptance testing, and drive defect triage to closure.
· Develop training materials and deliver role-based training for administrators, inventory personnel, property personnel, maintenance personnel, and managers.
· Contribute business process analysis and requirements documentation supporting follow-on planning for FIAR, ILS-S integration, and logistics reporting.
· Support hypercare, including defect resolution and knowledge transfer to the sustainment team.
Qualifications
• Must have 7, or more, years of hands-on IBM Maximo functional consulting experience. May be reduced with completion of advanced education.
• Must have demonstrated experience across Maximo Inventory, Assets, Work Management, and Purchasing modules.
• Must have experience authoring functional design documentation, requirements traceability artifacts, and test scripts.
• Must have experience configuring Maximo through Application Designer, Database Configuration, domains, conditional expressions, and workflow, without product source code modification.
• Must have experience leading user acceptance testing and data reconciliation activities on a migration or upgrade effort.
• Must have experience documenting current-state and future-state business processes for government stakeholder approval.
• Must have an active DoD/DoW Secret Security Clearance.
• Must have 1, or more, DoD 8570 certifications (such as Security+).
Preferred Qualifications
· Have a Bachelor's degree, or higher, in a related field.
· Have direct experience with IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 8.x or 9.x.
· Have experience supporting DoD or federal property accountability, materiel accountability, or depot maintenance operations.
· Be familiar with FIAR objectives and audit-supported inventory and property records.
· Have exposure to DAAS or DLMS logistics transaction processing.
· Have experience with inventory valuation and cost reconciliation in a financial audit context.
· Have an IBM Maximo certification.
