Job Description

Instructional Systems Designer

Program: Advanced analyst training platform (MIAAP) — computer-based training (CBT) development cell

The Opportunity

As an Instructional Designer, you know that even the best tools and processes can't have an impact without the right education. Constructing an interactive course that teaches critical information and tradecraft requires a real passion for understanding the needs of your customer. We have an opportunity for an Instructional Designer who is committed to solving some of the toughest challenges in national security by crafting effective training.

On our team, you'll work with SMEs to capture your customer's training needs and advise them on the right learning solution to help them accomplish their mission. Putting the learner at the center of the training experience, you'll design performance support tools and prepare training material following the ADDIE model.

You'll use your technical skills, creativity, and experience to come up with new ideas to develop an engaging, interactive learning experience on screen or in a classroom. You'll recommend cutting-edge multimedia technologies and strategies, including blended learning, to build a successful learning environment. You know communication is key, so you'll meet with SMEs throughout the process to discuss learning material and incorporate feedback. To ensure your solution is hitting the mark, you'll collect and analyze results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model, then fine-tune your training for maximum impact.

As the senior designer on a three-person team, you'll help set the standards, templates, and quality bar the rest of the team builds against, and you'll be the primary interface with the client on curriculum priorities. This is a chance to use your deep understanding of training methodologies to shape a creative learning experience that will engage students.

You Have
10+ years of experience in training course development or instruction, intelligence analysis, or military capabilities
Experience applying the ADDIE model or a comparable instructional design methodology across the full course development lifecycle
Experience working directly with SMEs to elicit content and translate it into learner-centered training products
Knowledge of instructional design principles, intelligence analysis tradecraft, and national security concepts
Ability to evaluate training effectiveness using methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model
Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a CI polygraph exam
Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have
Experience as an all-source or military intelligence analyst, with a background briefing senior audiences
Experience building computer-based or self-paced training in an authoring tool such as Articulate Storyline/Rise, Adobe Captivate, or Camtasia
Experience deploying and managing content in an LMS
Experience developing training for a DoD or IC customer
Experience with accessibility standards (Section 508) for digital learning content
Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or a related field
Clearance
