Software Engineer I

SALARY RANGE $124,000 - $181,000/year

DUTIES As a successful candidate for the Software Engineer I position on the CNO Section 7 Discovery Analytics Team (DAT), you will provide rapid software solutions to CNO analysts and operators. You will focus primarily on front-end UI development, with opportunities to work across the full stack and a wide range of technologies. You will work closely with analysts, operators, and other DAT team members to create and maintain UI tools that help address important mission issues, reducing friction in achieving mission goals. You will operate in a broad, fast-paced environment with the goal of delivering quick-turnaround solutions that provide as much benefit to the mission as possible.

QUALIFICATIONS Three (3) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Additional requirements:

• JavaScript/TypeScript and HTML/CSS experience
• Experience developing with UI frameworks (React, Angular, etc.)
• Familiarity with relational databases (Postgres, SQLite, MySQL, etc.)
• Knowledge of basic Docker containerization
• Experience using Git for version control
• Familiarity with the Linux command line

NICE-TO-HAVES

• CNO experience
• Experience with non-relational databases (Elasticsearch, MongoDB)
• Other programming language knowledge (Java, Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Other frontend or backend frameworks (Vue, FastAPI, Spring Boot, etc.)
• Data science and machine learning experience
• Experience with DevOps (GitLab CI, CI/CD, k8s, Ansible)
• Any AWS or other cloud provider certification
