Job Description
We are seeking a highly capable System Administrator Level 2 to support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of enterprise IT systems in a high-security environment. This role manages daily system operations for both Windows and UNIX/Linux platforms, provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, and ensures the reliability and performance of client/server, storage, and network devices. The SA will work directly with users, agency management, and technical teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve escalated issues.
Experience with AWS, Linux administration, Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2022, and scripting (Bash or similar) is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
System Support & Operations
• Support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
• Manage daily operations of system configuration and maintenance.
• Monitor and support client/server, storage, network devices, and mobile systems.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization; perform capacity analysis.
• Install, configure, and manage Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2022, and UNIX/Linux systems.
• Load, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance operating system software.
Tier 1 & Tier 2 Support
• Provide Tier 1 Help Desk support for initial problem identification and user assistance.
• Provide Tier 2 escalation support for complex diagnostics and issue resolution.
• Deliver detailed analysis and feedback for escalated tickets to management and customers.
• Support dispatch system and hardware-related trouble calls and follow through to resolution.
• Communicate status updates and escalation details to agency leadership and internal stakeholders.
System Configuration & Enhancement
• Configure and maintain UNIX and Windows operating systems, ensuring system integrity.
• Configure network components and implement OS-level enhancements for system reliability.
• Support system performance improvements and apply patches or updates as needed.
• Assist users in accessing and utilizing IT systems effectively.
Diagnostics, Troubleshooting & Scripting
• Perform in-depth troubleshooting across diverse IT systems.
• Use Bash or other scripting languages to enhance automation and support operational tasks.
• Diagnose and resolve system issues involving servers, operating systems, storage, or network connectivity.
Required Qualifications
• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (must already be held)
• IAT Level II (Security+ CE, GSEC, CySA+, CCNA Security, or GICSP)
• 10 years of experience as a System Administrator supporting similar scope and complexity
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
• Five additional years of System Administration experience may substitute for the degree requirement
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with AWS environments
• Intermediate Linux administration
• Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2022
• Bash or similar scripting
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and diagnostic tools
