Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist

• Assist in administering quality assurance programs by supporting quality planning, analyzing defects, recommending corrective actions, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
• Support supervisory quality control operations by coordinating inspection activities, helping manage workloads, providing input on performance matters, and ensuring compliance with established quality procedures and policies.
• Conduct quality audits, documented deficiencies, recommend corrective actions, and collaborate with team members to help ensure issues were addressed and quality standards were met.
• Review technical data and quality requirements, support production and procurement activities, evaluate inspection and test results, and provide technical guidance to help ensure compliance with depot specifications.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• You may be expected to travel 25% Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) for business purposes.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
• Required to successfully complete the Civilian Education System Course and the Supervisory Development Course within 12 months of being assigned to the position
• Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 1 year and 1 day.
• Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years.
• With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
• Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
• Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Making recommendations for process improvements and efficiency; 2) Monitoring quality programs and organizations for compliance; 3) Reviewing technical data to support production and procurement and to verify compliance with quality requirements; 4) Coordinating inspection activities and helping manage QC workloads to meet mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
