We are seeking a strong Senior Software Engineer to support the US Space Force to help in advanced space mission applications development. You'll be part of a modern software development team delivering applications and integrated services under a variety of space related program and product teams. These include the planning, control and monitoring of ground-to-space systems for electromagnetic surveillance and attack as well as customer-oriented network service delivery automation integrating the automated provisioning of terrestrial and/or space-based IP networks. (i.e. tactical S-Band edge device activation). You'll join a team of experienced professionals that bring collaborative and creativity to all they do. Candidates must be passionate, energized, and excited to work on modern architectures and solve challenging problems for our clients.

Position Description

• Design, develop, test and deliver sophisticated mission applications requiring the integrated use of modern software component frameworks, geospatial mapping, temporal control mechanisms, time-series databases and telemetry graphs and integrated agentic (AI/ML) assistants.

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a STEM related field
• 5+ years backend application development experience using a modern language such as Java, C# and/or Python
• 5+ years fronted application development experience using modern JavaScript frameworks such as Node, NextJS, TypeScript, React and/or Angular
• Experience with standard web protocols ( HTTPS, REST, WebSockets, gRPC )
• Experience with web authentication/authorization (Open ID Connect, OAuth 2.0, mTLS/PKI)
• Experience with databases and data modeling to include structured and unstructured data indexing and query.
• Experience with containerized microservice development Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Compose and the delivery of those using CI/CD pipeline methods (e.g. GitLab)
• Experience with geospatial mapping and GIS type applications. ( Cesium, geospatial indexing, raster data, and mapping coordinate systems such as ECI, ECEF and LLA )

Nice to Have:

• Experience with OpenShift / Kubernetes
• Experience with any of the following:
  
  
  • Modern self-registration methods, zero-trust-architectures and user onboarding
  • Space C2 protocols ( CCSDS, XTCE DBs, TLM processing and time-series databases (e.g. Redis, Prometheus)
  • Electromagnetic Warfare and / or Electromagnetic Surveillance
  • Coordinate system / affine transforms (ECI/ECEF, linear algebra and matrix transforms)
