MRB Engineer (Material Review Board Engineer)
Location: Charleston, SC
Job Type: Long-Term Contract
Compensation: $57/hr - $90/hr+ (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Opportunity
We are seeking an MRB Engineer to support one of the world's leading aerospace manufacturers in Charleston, SC. This is a long-term contract opportunity supporting commercial aircraft production and quality initiatives. We are open to candidates ranging from approximately 3 years of experience to senior-level engineers with 10+ years of expertise in manufacturing, quality, stress analysis, liaison engineering, or MRB/disposition engineering.
This position will focus on evaluating nonconforming aircraft components and assemblies, developing repair solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, safety, and compliance standards are met.
Responsibilities
Review and analyze nonconforming aircraft structures, systems, and components.
Develop dispositions for manufacturing and production discrepancies, including repair, rework, use-as-is, and scrap determinations.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, design engineering, and supplier teams to resolve production issues.
Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
Prepare technical documentation related to MRB activities and engineering dispositions.
Evaluate structural repairs and recommend solutions that maintain airworthiness and performance requirements.
Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, engineering standards, and internal quality processes.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing quality and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related discipline).
3+ years of engineering experience within aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, defense, or a related technical industry.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally in a production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous MRB, Liaison Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Stress Analysis experience.
Aerospace or aircraft manufacturing experience.
Experience supporting dispositions of nonconforming parts or assemblies.
Familiarity with CATIA, ENOVIA, MES, SAP, or similar engineering/manufacturing systems.
Knowledge of FAA regulations and aerospace quality standards.
