Job Description
The SME is tasked with identifying and resolving all-domain naval fires and targeting (ADNF-T) capability gaps across the Department of the Navy (DoN). The contractor team provides subject matter expertise, detailed assessments, and synchronization of DOTMLPF-P efforts across the Naval Services.
The JADC2 SME focuses on data interoperability, advanced command and control integration, and the digital pathways that connect the Joint Force. This role evaluates how maritime targeting data flows across multi-domain networks to support rapid, resilient sensor-to-shooter pairing.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate traits that align with PatchPlus’ guiding principles – Purpose, Proficiency and Character. PatchPlus’ purpose is to continue to make a difference to our nation’s security while providing persistent, meaningful employment to its owner-employees. Proficiency defines the PatchPlus ethos where we seek to hire and develop members who possess a high degree of competence, skill and expertise in their field of work. Character is the moral compass in each member that guides us to do the right things.
Responsibilities / Duties:
• Analyze and evaluate the integration of complex weapon systems, tactical sensors, and C2 networks across multiple domains.
• Assess maritime targeting data flows to identify interoperability gaps in sensor-to-shooter pairing.
• Evaluate Service-level JADC2 initiatives and architectures (e.g., Project Overmatch, Project Convergence, ABMS) for naval fires applicability.
• Develop and brief technical findings on kill-web integration to senior leaders.
• Translate complex engineering, software interface, and network architecture concepts into clear briefings for senior leadership.
• Coordinate with NAVWAR, PEO C4I, and joint stakeholders on JADC2 interoperability solutions.
• Utilize Mission Engineering tools to model and assess kill-web architectures.
Required Qualifications:
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Electrical/Systems Engineering preferred (or 20 years of experience as substitute).
• Minimum of 15 years of military, civil service, or DoD contractor experience in C4I systems, data links, or mission-engineering architectures.
• Proven capability to analyze and evaluate the integration of complex weapon systems, tactical sensors, and C2 networks across multiple domains.
• Ability to translate complex engineering and network architecture concepts into clear briefs for senior leadership.
• Joint Interoperability Division (JID) training: JT-101 (Introduction to Multi-TDL Network) or JT-201 (Multi-TDL Planner).
• Documented, recent experience working directly with Service-level JADC2 initiatives or architectures.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Completion of Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) course (JT-301) or Advanced JICO (JT-310).
• Previous systems engineering role within NAVWAR, PEO C4I, or equivalent.
• Experience utilizing Mission Engineering tools to model kill-webs.
Additional Comments:
• Offers contingent on successful contract bid.
• Projected August/September 2026 start date.
• Various locations: San Diego, Camp Pendleton, Norfolk, Camp Lejeune, Fallon, Honolulu
