Job Description
- Supports OOC staff in managing administrative law programs by conducting legal research, maintaining case files, preparing and submitting periodic reports, and executing general office management including tracking legal actions.
- Conducts research in requiring specialized subject areas of federal procurement and acquisition law, employment and personnel law, government ethics and federal government information practices.
- Serves as the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Privacy Act (PA) official for the Agency requiring specialized knowledge in the processing of FOIA and PA requests.
- Researches legislation, implementing regulations and policies using a multiplicity of multiple reference sources.
- Prepares written synopsis or briefs which review and discuss the results of the research and factual investigations.
- Instructs auditors and other professionals in legal research methods and the sources and methods of application of law contained in regulation, statutes, court decisions and administrative decisions.
- Conducts extensive and thorough legal research using various publication sources and electronic research services.
- Drafts legal correspondence regarding the issues presented in the legal actions and cases.
- Provides support to three Agency attorneys.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance .

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1)Assisting in identifying legal issues, conducting legal research and/or analysis to draft legal documents utilizing automated research tools; 2) Assisting in providing administrative support using the NIPR and SIPR electronic communication systems; 3) Independently prepare drafts, reports, briefs and legal documents to aid in the development of agency requirements; and 4) Gathering and maintaining data on legal work performed and using the data to submit periodic automated and electronic reports outside the Agency
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
