Job Description

As an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:
  • Serve as the principal advisor to the Information System Owner
  • Review and develop Information Systems (IS) accreditation/certification support documentation.
  • Maintain RMF standards and Configuration Management
  • Perform STIGS / SCAP on the network, Self Inspections, and enforce remediation actions
  • Assess Vulnerability and Risk Management
  • Create and maintain system Assessment and Authorization policies.
  • Create, update, and monitor/maintain SOPs and plans including PO&AMs, Continuous Monitoring, SSPs, and Incident Responses
  • Perform audits (Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly) to identify vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures
  • Maintain IS security records and advise and prepare Co-Utilization Agreements
  • Track software and hardware End of Life (EOL) and End of Service Life (EOSL)
  • Provide security coordination and reviews on all system test plans
  • Attend system Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings.




  • Active TS//SCI clearance with SAP eligibility.
  • Bachelors degree
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience supporting DoD/IC security and Information Technology systems
  • Current DOD IAT Level III certification: e.g., CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, or GCIH
  • Experience with assessment tools such as ACAS, SCAP, and STIG Viewer
  • Adept at briefing executives and program IPT level leadership
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Possess an analytical mindset with effective problem-solving skills
  • Current or prior Special Access Program experience a plus!
