Job Description
Our IPM Subject Matter Expert will provide expert-level Integrated Program Management (IPM) support to senior leadership within U.S. Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC). The SME acts as the primary strategic authority on program integration, directing the alignment of cost, schedule, and technical parameters across major defense acquisition programs (MDAPs) to safeguard multi-billion dollar space and ground portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the integration of cost, schedule, risk, and technical performance metrics across major SSC portfolios, providing strategic oversight of program health.
- Serve as the primary trusted advisor to Program Executive Officers (PEOs) and senior leadership, presenting high-level assessments, predictive forecasts, and strategic mitigation plans.
- Lead executive-level Program Management Reviews (PMRs), strategic baseline reviews, and major milestone decision briefs.
- Oversee enterprise-level Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) management boards, guiding the development of complex risk mitigation and recovery strategies.
- Drive IPM process improvements across the directorate, advising SSC leadership on the integration of modern Agile/DevSecOps metrics with traditional hardware acquisition frameworks.
- Mentor junior analysts and program managers on advanced IPM principles, DoD acquisition policy, and executive reporting standards.
- Evaluate prime contractor execution strategies and provide expert recommendations on contract structuring, performance incentives, and statement of work (SOW) alignment.
Required Qualifications- Master's degree (MA/MS) is required (preferably in engineering, business, math, or the sciences).
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including expert-level experience in schedule development, analysis, integration, and management with the USAF, DoD, NASA, or DoD hardware contractor.
- Extensive experience (well over 6 years) using Microsoft Project, Project Server, or similar schedule tools.
- Expert knowledge of schedule management best practices such as critical path methodology, schedule quality, and schedule execution metrics.
- Advanced proficiency using Steelray Project Analyzer or equivalent, and deep knowledge of the DCMA 14-Point Assessment.
- Highly proficient using MS Office Suite with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and executive presentation skills.
Desired Qualifications- Extensive history working directly with USSF SSC, NRO, or SDA acquisition divisions.
- Recognized Earned Value Professional (EVP) certification from AACE International or equivalent expert-level defense acquisition certifications.

Work Environment- High-visibility, on-site strategic advisory environment supporting SSC headquarters operations.
- Requires independent execution, high-level negotiation with prime contractors, and sound executive judgment.
Security Clearance- Active DoD Security Clearance is required (Top Secret/SCI preferred).
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000/year, DOE
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in math, engineering, or the sciences.
