:
  • Provide IT systems administration support in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
  • Manage and maintain core services including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory (AD), and server replication.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complex issues involving integration of hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Implement and manage data RAID, backup, and recovery technologies.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain compliance with security requirements.
  • Install, configure, and document software applications requested by end users.
  • Provide user and system documentation, process training, and ongoing technical support.
  • Participate in on-call or after-hours system maintenance as required to support 24x7 operations.
  • Travel up to 5% domestically based on business needs.



  • Gain experience maintaining a diverse set of operating systems in an air-gapped environment.
  • Expand knowledge in DoD cybersecurity compliance and mission support systems.
  • Opportunity to obtain DoDD 8140 / 8570 Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) with company support.



  • Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • At least 2 years of experience with some of the following: Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, Veeam, MySQL, Windows or Linux system administration, and network administration.
  • Ability to meet Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start date.


  • Linux system administration experience highly desired.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Operating System Certification (Microsoft, Red Hat, etc.).
  • Experience with NISPOM or DoD/RMF compliance.
  • Experience in:
  • Windows Desktop and Server management
  • Data storage (NAS/SAN) solutions
  • IT project lifecycle management
  • VMware vCenter, vSphere, and ESX
  • Microsoft WSUS and Exchange
  • Supporting software, simulation, and hardware engineering environments
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) environments
  • Scripting/Automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
