The will be responsible for overseeing automated optical inspection (AOI) technologies and inspection workflows that ensure the quality and reliability of advanced microelectronic devices manufactured within the semiconductor foundry. This role involves directing inspection strategy, optimizing inspection programs, managing tool health, and supporting both development and production activities.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with automated inspection systems and methodologies, including recipe creation, image analysis, defect classification, and process-to-inspection feedback loops. The execution lead will partner closely with the process engineering team to identify yield-limiting defect mechanisms, champion inspection improvements, implement advanced inspection capabilities, and guide data-driven decision-making.

This position requires a strong on-floor presence to understand technical, logistical, and quality-related challenges in real time. The role demands a high degree of multitasking, prioritization, and accuracy while balancing inspection commitments, production needs, and customer/program requirements.





• Lead AOI inspection strategy, including recipe development, defect-classification improvement, and inspection program optimization in the Die Visual work center.
• Review and analyze inspection data to identify trends, defect sources, and opportunities for yield improvement.
• Drive inspection-related process improvements, support root-cause investigations, and partner with process teams to implement corrective actions.
• Lead qualifications to implement new capital equipment.
• Collaborate across process, operations, and quality teams to communicate findings, escalate issues appropriately, and support factory-wide decision-making.
• Mentor junior AOI or inspection engineers and help build technical capability within the team.



• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

• A minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
• Experience in semiconductor inspection, AOI, or related metrology/defect-detection technologies.
• Experience with automated inspection tools, recipe creation, imaging algorithms, or defect-classification methodologies.

• Experience using root-cause analysis techniques and data-driven defect diagnostics.

• Experience Statistical Process Control (SPC) and related software tools.

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance post-start is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.



• A Master's degree or PhD in a STEM field.
• Previous experience working with defense contractors or government agencies.
• Current DoD Secret clearance.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to interpret complex inspection datasets.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, operations, and quality teams.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
