Job Description
- Manage and coordinate all staff actions for the directorate. Track and monitor suspense dates for taskers, ensuring timely responses while liaising with internal and external command groups to ensure all commitments are met.
- Provide technical advice on administrative support requirements. Develop, evaluate, and recommend improvements for directorate administrative processes, procedures, and policies to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate routine workload and taskings on behalf of the Director.
- Manage the day-to-day administrative operations of the directorate.
- Prepare for and make arrangements for conferences, meetings, and on-site visits, including coordinating presentations and reserving facilities.
- De-conflict and maintain calendars for senior leadership, screen calls and visitors, and compose and review complex correspondence for proper format and content.
- Administer the Defense Travel System (DTS) for the directorate.
- Assist personnel with travel-related questions, manage traveler profiles and routing lists, and ensure appropriate coordination for all scheduled travel.
- Serve as a liaison for manpower, personnel, and training matters.
- Gather information for decision-making, ensure documents like appraisals and awards are processed, and manage daily personnel accountability for the directorate.
- Utilize various computer systems and software to prepare charts, graphs, and reports.
- Develop and maintain data files, spreadsheets, and databases to retrieve information, compile reports, and monitor project status.
- Serve as the directorate's point of contact for records management.
- Ensure all documents are in compliance with the Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS) and use automated tools to control suspense actions.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Coordinating and tracking staff actions, evaluating administrative procedures to recommend improvements, and managing official correspondence for an office, and 2) Providing administrative support such as managing calendars, making travel arrangements using a government travel system (such as the Defense Travel System), and serving as a liaison for personnel-related matters.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education : Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience : A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
