Position Summary:

HII: Mission Technologies is seeking a System Engineer Senior to join our team in Mary Esther, Florida, to provide systems engineering design, development, integration and fielding support, including research, collaboration, authoring and maintaining standardized specifications, configurations and implementing virtual, physical and cloud-based services and enabling configurations as part of the Worldwide Warfighter Network (WWN) Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for configuring, hardening, and sustaining hybrid service architectures (physical, virtual and cloud-based) comprised of Windows and RHEL servers in support of a global enterprise service architecture across multiple classifications in support of a wide range of services and expanding use cases. Duties will include:

  • Lead systems engineering activities for Warfighter Worldwide Network (WWN).
  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to identify service end user requirements, decompose to identify system requirements, technical performance parameters, and attributes to develop specifications and provide detailed technical Analysis of Alternatives.
  • Lead the presentation of technical approach, standards to be employed within the solution and development of the initial solution with emphasis on supporting material solution performance attributes and specifications, development and engineering timelines to support buildout, integration, testing, and internal performance validation of the baseline performance standards through Development and Operational
  • Testing (DT/OT) through initial fielding of the operational capabilities, and incremental service releases.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, (DoDAF Diagrams), Interface Control Documents, Ports, Protocols and Services Management and Hardware and Software baselines and related performance specification.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members as required.
  • Participate in research, analysis, I&T, Developmental and Operational Testing Events, User Acceptance Test events, while serving in a Tier-3 capacity in events where service and performance are degraded or lost after fielding.
  • May assist management in definition of project scope and sequence of engineering and integration objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Coordinating amongst various teams in different engineering disciplines to present a unified, integrated product to project stakeholders.
  • Performing risk management to minimize project risks including leading AoA with emphasis on customer requirements.
  • Staying abreast of current Industry best practices, Cyber Security Standards and evolving services across the technical landscape.
  • Serve as an advocate, owning your services and working to enhance value, operational viability and end user adoption and overall product satisfaction.

Additionally, this team member will:
  • Provide transparent communications amongst peers, customers and stakeholders to achieve schedules while identifying risks, dependencies and future needs as a result of the accepted designs.
  • Support the development and management for providing the service lifecycle activities, cyber compliance, organizational readiness, and project and product related deliverables to meet MVP, IOC and FOC criteria.
  • Assess proposed changes to software, systems, features and other proposed changes across information systems, their environment of operation, and mission needs that could affect system authorizations and established use cases.
  • Perform deliverable reviews and lead corrective actions to resolve discrepancies across the portfolio of enabling activities.
  • Provide purposeful reviews of security architecting, design, development, and configuration of information systems.
  • Provide inputs to development teams responsible for designing and developing organizational information systems and upgrading legacy systems.
  • Ensure teams are employing best practices when designing and implementing information systems including software engineering methodologies, system/security engineering principles, secure design, secure architecture, and secure coding techniques and effective testing and reporting processes to validate outcomes.
  • Manage backlog and capability roadmaps.
  • Keep abreast of current and new security technologies and threats pertaining to the technology areas of the program with appetite to recommend mitigation, countermeasures, or other options that reduce cost, enhance resilience and drive unparalleled capability to our customers.
  • Identify integration issues related to the implementation of new systems within the existing infrastructure; recommend mitigation and/or resolution options.




  • 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Preferred: 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • IAT Level 2 Certification required
  • Must possess an active secret security clearance. Must be able to acquire a TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Experience in applying rigorous systems engineering processes. Leveraging automation to ensure rigor and discipline to deliver "best of breed" next gen capabilities.
  • Knowledge of MBSE and SE Best practices and innovative approaches to applying those practices in a fast-paced ongoing and continuous development environment.
  • Solid application of SE throughout the lifecycle of development and sustainment is highly desired.
  • Experience in research and analysis of industry trends, standards, and security vulnerabilities with ability to harden services including applying STIGS, test automation tools and comfortable using CI/CD tool chains and Git services to deliver integrated systems of systems solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing the design and installations of complex IT or Communications related systems; Enterprise level service performance.
  • Experience working in a government contracting environment.
  • Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed in a minimal direction but willing to ask for help when needed.




  • Must have significant Linux and Windows experience
  • RHEL Certified Systems Engineer desired
  • Experience in distributed DoD modeling and simulation capabilities and architectures.
  • Experience with complex IT integration and networking projects
  • Experience in DoD C4I systems and protocols.
  • Experience utilizing Agile methodologies and principles as well as Agile frameworks
  • Experience with collaboration, development tracking, and version control systems such as Confluence, Jira, and Git
  • Knowledge of container fundamentals
  • Very comfortable with integration and testing phases, developing test cases.
  • PowerShell, scripting and task automation knowledge, skills and abilities are highly desired
  • Experience with container runtime environments such as Docker and container-orchestration systems such as Kubernetes
  • Design and development in Relational and NoSQL/Graph databases
  • Experience with DoD Modeling and Simulation
  • Experience with designing, implementing and sustaining servers in both on premise and cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Have extensive familiarity with providing support to the DoD, USAF and USSOCOM RMF processes and Cyber Compliance Management and TISC SEIM service delivery requirements.
  • Strong familiarity with one of the following TISC Service Delivery Areas: Cloud-based virtualization (containers), and Virtual Machine industry standards
