System Administrator
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure the reliability and performance of UNIX and Windows environments while providing expert-level technical support for day-to-day operations and escalated issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Systems Management & Optimization: Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems. Install system software, maintain network integrity, optimize resource utilization, and conduct system capacity analysis and planning.
- Operational Support: Maintain IT infrastructure, including client/server, storage, and network devices. Provide day-to-day monitoring and proactively resolve system performance issues.
- Technical Support: Deliver Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, identifying and diagnosing complex problems. Coordinate hardware dispatch and support the end-to-end resolution process.
- Communication & Reporting: Serve as a primary point of contact for internal customers and agency management. Provide detailed status updates, feedback on escalated tickets, and assistance to users accessing IT systems.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. (Note: Five years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.)
- Certification: DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I or higher is required.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining diverse IT systems.
- Experience with DevOps practices and AWS.
