Job Description
DUTY 1: Performs role as a Master System Administrator/Cybersecurity Expert: Secures, plans, coordinates, installs, and integrates software and hardware for the CAF DOD wide enterprise-level test bed infrastructure supporting operational infrastructure.
DUTY 2: Provides cybersecurity technical guidance and instruction to engineers and senior IT specialists. Prepares, coordinates, and implements cybersecurity policy and procedures for enterprise-level hardware and software applications and integration/operational business networks.
DUTY 3: Serves as Lead System Administrator/Cybersecurity Expert. Communicates organizational strategic plan, mission and vision to senior IT specialists, military services members, government civilians and contractors, working at the integration center.
DUTY 4: Maintains liaison with manufacturers, professional organizations, and master level cybersecurity specialists at other installations and services regarding available products and state-of-the-art technologies and advancements.

This is a GG-13 position in the Cyber Excepted Service (CES). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

SPECIALIZED EXPEREINCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include knowledge of a technical field (cybersecurity and system administration) and exceptional skill in applying this knowledge to the development of new methods, approaches, or procedures for a complex enterprise test-bed environment. Providing technical guidance to senior specialists and serving as a
Lead System Administrator/facilitator. Analyst who designs operational tests and refines technical procedures. The responsibility to continually survey system operations to anticipate problems and develop cybersecurity tests to evaluate current security posture. Knowledge of enterprise IT systems, cloud architectures, and DoD cybersecurity protocols to develop new methods for complex multi-level secure environments. As the designated Lead, the position requires demonstrated leadership skills to coordinate, guide, and review the work of a professional crew of senior IT specialists.
Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
- Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. The employee must obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
- Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from the position.
