Insight Xcite is recruiting for Software Engineer, Software Developer, and Software Developer (Systems Software) openings in Herndon and Chantilly. Software Engineer openings include Senior and Expert levels; other listed openings do not specify a fixed level. Each opening has its own technical requirements, listed below.
Software Engineer (Senior) - Enterprise Application Development - Herndon
Required: at least 6 years of relevant software-development experience, a relevant technical degree or equivalent experience, object-oriented development, software lifecycle/test/debugging practices, source control, databases, APIs and integrations. C#/.NET experience is preferred; strong object-oriented developers able to ramp into the stack may be considered.
Software Engineer (Expert) - Python Network Automation - Herndon
Required: at least 11 years of relevant experience; 5-7 years of hands-on Python programming, including at least 2 years in network automation; Ansible, Cisco NSO, IP-address management such as NetBox, automated testing with PyATS or a comparable framework, Jenkins/CI/CD, and YANG data modeling. The role requires leading complex automation work and guiding developers. Degrees are preferred.
Software Engineer - Java / Search / Big Data - Chantilly
Required: at least 3 years of Solr or Elasticsearch, including schemas, Lucene queries, shards and performance tuning; at least 3 years in a big-data environment such as Hadoop, PySpark, Spark or HBase; at least 5 years of hands-on backend Java delivering tested production code; and a computer science or equivalent technical degree. JavaScript or Spring Boot familiarity alone does not replace the backend Java requirement.
Software Developer (Systems Software) - Java / AWS Technical Lead - Chantilly
Required: technical team leadership; Java; cloud/AWS environments, databases and APIs; COTS products including ServiceNow; accessible Agile application development; UX/UI and modernization; full accreditation lifecycle; managing Tier 1-3 support; and operational/software lifecycle documentation, patching and updates.
Software Engineer - Python / AWS CDK Development - Chantilly
Required: deep software-development experience, Python, JavaScript and another backend language; analyzing unfamiliar code and reproducing behavior; test harnesses/continuous testing; installing Linux and writing complex Unix shell scripts; network traffic analysis; and AWS CDK.
Software Developer - ETL / Full Stack / Statistical Modeling - Chantilly
Required: enterprise batch and real-time ETL/ELT pipelines, React/Next.js or similar, Python/Java/Scala backend development and microservices, APIs, Docker, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, probabilistic models, risk scoring, Bayesian inference, Monte Carlo simulation and statistical modeling.
