Systems Administrator / Field Support Engineer
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator / Field Support Engineer to provide hands-on support for secure enterprise IT environments. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, securing, and supporting hardware, software, and communications systems while ensuring compliance with organizational security requirements. The successful candidate will support multiple technology disciplines and deliver both onsite and remote technical assistance across various operational locations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform information assurance and cybersecurity support for secure computing environments.
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot workstations, servers, printers, scanners, and other IT infrastructure components.
Provide end-user support, including account administration, access management, technical troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
Implement and maintain security configurations in accordance with established security hardening and compliance standards.
Administer secure communications and information systems across operational environments.
Maintain system documentation, configuration management records, inventories, and status reporting.
Support cybersecurity compliance requirements, user awareness efforts, and security best practices.
Assist with software updates, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and system monitoring activities.
Travel periodically to support field locations, deployments, training environments, or customer sites as required.
Support changing operational requirements and mission priorities across different geographic locations.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting secure IT infrastructure, systems administration, networking, or enterprise technology operations.
Experience administering Windows-based systems, servers, user accounts, and enterprise network environments.
Knowledge of cybersecurity, information assurance, system hardening, and security compliance practices.
Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, network connectivity, and end-user issues.
Ability to work independently while supporting multiple priorities in fast-paced operational environments.
Active DoD 8140-compliant IAM or IAT Level II or Level III certification.

CompTIA Security+
CompTIA CySA+
CompTIA Cloud+
GIAC GSEC
CASP+
CISSP
GCED
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
Experience supporting intelligence, training, simulation, defense, or other highly secure operational environments.
Background supporting enterprise communications systems, classified networks, or mission-critical IT infrastructure.
Experience working within large-scale military, government, or regulated enterprise organizations.
Familiarity with system accreditation, compliance requirements, configuration management, and cybersecurity frameworks.
Work Environment
Primarily onsite position supporting secure operational environments.
Periodic travel may be required based on operational demands.
Schedule may include rotating shifts, extended coverage periods, day/night rotations, or non-traditional work hours to support mission requirements.
Ability to adapt to changing locations, schedules, and support requirements as organizational needs evolve.
