Strategic Planning and Posture Analyst

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Planning and Posture Analyst to support enterprise-level strategic planning, operational posture assessments, contingency planning, and executive decision-making activities. This position will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to analyze complex operational challenges, develop strategic recommendations, and contribute to long-range planning efforts across joint and multi-domain environments.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong military planning background, experience supporting senior headquarters organizations, and the ability to translate strategic guidance into actionable plans and recommendations. Former field-grade officers with experience in operational planning, combatant command environments, or major headquarters organizations are highly desired.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and assess strategic posture recommendations, contingency plans, operational concepts, and long-range planning initiatives.
Analyze operational, strategic, and policy-related issues impacting force readiness, posture, and mission execution across global environments.
Support planning efforts by integrating national-level guidance, organizational objectives, and operational priorities into executable plans and recommendations.
Conduct mission analysis, risk assessments, and course-of-action development to support leadership decision-making.
Prepare executive-level briefings, decision support products, white papers, and analytical assessments for senior stakeholders.
Evaluate strategic scenarios and support planning efforts through the use of analytical tools, modeling platforms, and planning systems.
Collaborate with stakeholders across operational, logistics, planning, and policy organizations to ensure alignment of strategic objectives and mission requirements.
Contribute to posture planning, theater engagement efforts, contingency operations, and future force planning initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 8 years of experience supporting operational, strategic, or campaign-level planning activities within complex military or government organizations.
Strong knowledge of the Joint Planning Process (JPP) and military planning methodologies.
Understanding of planning frameworks, operational design, contingency planning, and force employment concepts.
Familiarity with resource planning, budgeting, and program development processes.
Experience working with operational plans, concept plans, campaign plans, or theater-level planning efforts.
Experience conducting mission analysis, risk assessments, and course-of-action development.
Knowledge of command structures, planning directives, and operational guidance used to support large-scale planning efforts.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare concise executive-level products.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment supporting senior leaders and multiple stakeholder organizations.

Desired Qualifications

Experience supporting combatant command, major headquarters, joint staff, or equivalent enterprise-level planning organizations.
Air Operations Center (AOC) experience.
Red Teaming experience supporting strategic analysis or operational planning.
Background in logistics, sustainment, force posture, or readiness planning.
Familiarity with planning and execution systems used to support joint operations.
Experience with multi-domain operations planning and integrated campaign development.
Knowledge of advanced command-and-control concepts, digital planning environments, or emerging operational technologies.
Experience supporting military exercises, wargaming, or operational assessments.
Graduate-level military education or advanced strategic studies coursework.
Completion of professional military planning education or operational planning courses.

Work Environment

Full-time position supporting senior-level planning and strategy functions.
