Location: North Charleston, SC (Onsite with up to 2 days/week remote)
Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000 Base Salary

About the Opportunity
Insight Global is seeking a Microsoft Azure Cloud Engineer to support a critical federal software systems program. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure while driving automation, cloud modernization, and DevOps initiatives within a mission-critical environment.
The ideal candidate has strong Azure cloud engineering experience, a passion for automation, and a background supporting complex enterprise or federal IT environments. This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale cloud initiatives while helping shape cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, and operational best practices.
Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure environments
Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and improve operational efficiency
Automate cloud operations, including monitoring, scaling, backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure provisioning
Design and optimize cloud architectures for security, performance, cost efficiency, and scalability
Implement and support containerized environments utilizing Docker and Kubernetes
Develop cloud monitoring, observability, and management solutions
Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives across enterprise systems
Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues spanning multiple technologies and teams
Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and deployment procedures
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve automation and operational effectiveness
Collaborate with engineering teams using Agile and Scrum methodologies
Provide technical guidance and recommendations on cloud best practices and process improvements
Required Qualifications
Active Top Secret Security Clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
5+ years of cloud engineering, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps experience
IAT Level II Certification (Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, or equivalent)
3+ years working with cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM Templates, CloudFormation, etc.)
Experience utilizing Ansible for automation and configuration management
Experience deploying and managing containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
Strong understanding of cloud networking, cloud security, and infrastructure best practices
Experience designing and supporting multi-tier cloud applications and services
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and Scrum environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with any of the following is highly desired:
Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
Git, GitLab, Artifactory, Jira, and Confluence
Python, Bash, or other scripting languages
Red Hat OpenShift
Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar monitoring tools
Microservices and serverless architectures
Cloud database administration
Security compliance frameworks and cloud governance
FinOps and cloud cost optimization strategies
Visual Studio Code and modern development environments
