Position Location

This is a remote position is based in Chesapeake, VA.

Job Overview

Chugach is seeking an Engineer/Scientist 1 to support the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) US Coast Guard (USCG) Integrated Product Team (IPT).

This role will provide Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) and Engineering Change (EC)/Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) support for the USCG Command and Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) Product Lines (PLs) and Shared Service Divisions (SSDs).

This position will assist USCG Project Managers (PjMs), NIWC Project Leads (PLs), Lead Engineers and the Chugach team in creating artifacts in accordance with the C5ISCINST M4130. This person must have excellent research skills, a keen attention to detail, and must be able to develop project, engineering, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:
  • Create, review, and modify engineering and technical documentation including, but not limited to, Project Charters, Project Management Plans (PMPs), System Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs), Engineering Change Plans (ECPs), and Project Risk and Issue Registers.
  • Develop SFLC Engineering Changes-Time Compliance Technical Orders (EC-TCTOs).
  • Attend meetings, provide briefings, and participate in working groups as required by the customer.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to make significant presentations.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, while working independently and with other project personnel.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Proficient computer skills especially Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Ability to be self-motivated
  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
  • Complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Master of Science in an Engineering field
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with a ""can do"" attitude capable of overcoming difficult challenges.

Working Conditions:
  • The candidate must be able to work at a desk and computer for long periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
