CLASSIFICATION: Technical Support Supervisor II

GRADE: Exempt; Regular Full-time

LOCATION: Test Site D4/D6/D8, Tarpon Springs, FL - On Site

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential job functions require practical knowledge of operational objectives and range capabilities. This position may interface with range schedulers; project coordinators; members of management; Reliance Test & Technology employees from other sites; various contacts outside the company; and Civil Service or active-duty military personnel. Incumbents must exercise discretion and independent judgment in resolving problems. May be responsible for assuring communications systems are established between range control, test aircraft and mission support personnel, and may coordinate range cleanup operations with the appropriate support groups, including submission of work requests to facilitate range maintenance and operation.

GENERAL DUTIES:
  • Reporting to the Range Instrumentation Section Manager, this position supervises E-OMS employees involved in operations, maintenance and/or testing.
  • Working independently on routine assignments and seeking assistance from higher levels of supervision or management for more complex assignments.
  • This supervisor plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in operations, testing and/or maintenance methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions; participates in the hiring of new employees by conducting interviews and making hiring recommendations; may provide employee counseling for disciplinary issues; and performs performance evaluations.
  • In addition, this supervisor ensures effective employee relations; provides employee coaching and development; resolves employee issues through problem resolution; balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas; manages site performance measures, and provides regular progress reports to manager; manages department priorities tracks absenteeism and time-keeping; supports EOMS operational objectives; and is responsible for all other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

OTHER DUTIES: Periods of extensive overtime are possible. This position may require shifting of hours to accommodate mission support and to allow for crew rest, if necessary. Other duties may be assigned, such as safety, security, custodial, PIPR, and TMDE. Work hours are 0600-1500; however, all overtime missions must be supported. May also be required to work at other locations, when requested. Occasional TDY/travel may be required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be a high school graduate or GED equivalent. Must have seven years of applicable experience, military and/or technical training.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This challenging position requires advanced leadership and managerial skills, as well as good functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel programs as well as PIMS modules. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position may function in a variety of environmental conditions both inside and outside, depending on mission requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal. May require sitting for long periods of time. Some lifting of up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, stooping and climbing may be required
