Position Location

This (contingent upon contract award) position is going to be located onsite in Albany, Georgia.

Job Overview

The Project / Warehouse Manager serves as the Contractor's on-site operational leader and designated point of contact for Government representatives supporting contract execution at DLA Distribution Albany, Georgia (DDAG). The Project / Warehouse Manager is responsible for the planning, direction, management, supervision, and successful completion of all contract requirements associated with warehouse and distribution support operations.

This position provides overall leadership for Contractor personnel and daily operational execution to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual requirements, performance standards, and customer expectations. The Project / Warehouse Manager maintains accountability for workforce management, scheduling, warehouse performance, quality execution, reporting, cost control, and continuous operational improvement.

The Project / Warehouse Manager shall remain on site during contract performance and serve as the primary operational interface with Government personnel to coordinate activities, resolve issues, maintain service continuity, and support mission readiness.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:
  • Serve as the Contractor's primary on-site point of contact for Government representatives regarding operational execution and contract performance.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of warehouse operations and associated contract services.
    Plan, organize, schedule, and manage contract execution to maximize workforce utilization and operational efficiency.
  • Supervise Contractor personnel and establish work priorities to support workload requirements and customer expectations.
  • Monitor staffing levels and adjust employee schedules and resource allocations to meet operational demands while minimizing overtime usage.
  • Ensure work is executed in accordance with contract requirements, applicable procedures, performance metrics, and established service levels.
  • Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) platforms to manage operations, monitor workflow, support reporting, and improve inventory and labor performance.
  • Maintain accountability for operational reporting and ensure accurate and timely submission of required reports and performance documentation.
  • Establish controls to prevent inefficient or wasteful methods and promote effective use of labor resources.
  • Implement quality assurance measures and continuous improvement initiatives to support cost-effective contract execution.
  • Monitor operational metrics and identify trends, risks, deficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Coordinate workforce activities to support surge requirements, schedule fluctuations, customer priorities, and mission continuity.
  • Maintain communication and coordination with Government stakeholders to resolve issues and support uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, security requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Support transition, startup, contingency operations, and continuity planning activities.
  • Conduct periodic operational reviews and implement corrective actions when performance objectives are not achieved.
  • Promote employee accountability, workforce engagement, and operational excellence.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • Demonstrated management experience supporting warehouse, logistics, operations, distribution, or Government service environments.
  • Minimum three (3) years WMS experience within the last five (5) years.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, directing, and supervising personnel in an operational environment.
  • Experience scheduling labor and managing staffing resources to meet operational requirements.
  • Experience developing operational reports and maintaining performance accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, prioritize workload, and execute within established timelines.
  • Experience serving as a customer-facing operational lead.
  • Knowledge of DLA distribution operations and inventory processes.
  • Ability to maintain, obtain required background screening or DOD security clearance.

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Experience managing labor-hour or performance-based service contracts.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and operational compliance requirements.
  • Experience leading transition and startup activities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.

Working Conditions:
  • Position operates within an active warehouse, logistics, and administrative environment.
  • Requires routine interaction with Government personnel, operational staff, and Contractor leadership.
  • Work is performed in office, warehouse, storage, and operational environments.
  • Position supports operational schedules and may require responsiveness outside normal business hours.
  • Schedule flexibility may be required to support customer requirements, surge operations, and continuity of service

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to move throughout warehouse and operational areas for inspections, oversight, and employee supervision.
  • Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods while conducting meetings, reporting, and operational coordination.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, climb stairs, and inspect active warehouse environments.
  • Must be able to operate standard office and warehouse-related technology and equipment.
