Tysons, VA
Top Secret/SCI Full Scope Polygraph
Mid Level Career (5+ yrs experience)
$150,000 - $220,000
Job Description
Systems Engineer / Systems Scientist (TS/SCI with CI Poly)
Location: Tysons, on-site
Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph required. Full scope a plus. Must be deployable to the program day one. No sponsorship, no upgrades in process.
Compensation: 150-220k DOE
Type: Direct hire, full time
The work
This is not a compliance seat and it is not run-and-maintain. Our client, a small company supporting classified national security programs, needs an engineer who can design systems and take them apart. You will work across hardware and software, building integrated solutions to hard technical problems and deconstructing existing systems to understand exactly how they work. The problem set changes. The mission does not.
You will:
Design, integrate, and test systems end to end on classified programs
Perform technical analysis and teardown of hardware and software systems
Move between disciplines: RF, embedded, software, mechanical, whatever the problem needs
Prototype fast, document what matters, brief technical findings to program leadership
Work small-team, high-autonomy, direct mission impact
You have:
Active TS/SCI with CI poly minimum
Real engineering artifacts: systems you designed, integrated, tested, or reverse engineered. Not systems you administered or assessed
Depth in at least one discipline and curiosity across the rest
Experience in R&D, integration labs, rapid prototyping, or T&E environments
Comfort with ambiguity and unpolished problems
Strong candidates often have: DAWIA SE certification, MBSE experience, prime or IC lab background, exploitation or vulnerability research exposure, hands-on hardware work.
This seat is for a builder who got bored being a maintainer, or an analyst who wants to touch the hardware again. If your last three years are tickets, scans, and POA&Ms, this is not your role.
Apply with a resume that shows what you built or broke. That is what gets a callback here.
