Job Description

Duties

  • Serves as the principal administrative support position for the Office of the Secretary of the General Staff, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence.
  • Assists in the development of all administrative processes and implements, initiates, reviews, coordinates, monitors and advises personnel on these processes.
  • Independently directs actions throughout the office to satisfy administrative taskings and requirements in an effective and timely manner.
  • Independently plans, manages, develops, and controls a wide variety of administrative services necessary for the day-to-day operation, both routine and unusual.
  • Performs office operations and administrative management. Serves as primary contact for calls and visitors to the command group and takes appropriate action.
  • Serves as the Organization Defense Travel System Administrator (ODTA) for the command group and multiple staff organizations.
  • Serves as the Government Travel Credit Card (GTCC) Coordinator for the command group and multiple staff organizations.
  • Serves as the time and attendance primary point of contact for the command group and multiple staff organizations, utilizing the ATAAPS system.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for receipt and processing of all military awards requiring MSCoE command group action, utilizing IPPS-A system, as well processing hard copy awards as necessary.
  • Utilizes a variety of software, to include word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations on a computer used as a stand-alone or as part of a network.

Specialized Experience: One Year Specialized Experience which includes:1) development of all administrative processes and implements, initiates, reviews, coordinates, monitors and advises personnel on these processes. 2) Independently directs actions throughout the office to satisfy administrative taskings and requirements in an effective and timely manner. 3) Independently plans, manages, develops, and controls a wide variety of administrative services necessary for the day-to-day operation, both routine and unusual. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Proficiency required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
