The F/A-18 Test and Evaluation Team is seeking a Systems Engineer (Integration, Verification and Validation) in China Lake, CA to join the Naval Air Warfare Center-Weapons Division team with a focus on developing cutting edge engineering solutions to continue to advance the fighter at the heart of the US Navy's air wing.
As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating, verifying and validating engineering solutions for the F/A-18 Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler, including both enhancing existing field units with the addition of new capabilities as well as architecting and testing completely new systems. In this role, you will be joining a cross-functional team to progress our products through the development lifecycle. Tasks include developing requirements to support customer needs, creating test plans to ensure requirements are performing, and supporting lab and ground tests in an integrated Boeing/US Navy development team.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior level Systems Engineers (Integration, Verification and Validation).

Position Responsibilities:
- Work with customer teams to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
- Analyze and translate requirements into system, hardware, and software designs and interface specifications
- Perform system integration of new solutions onto the F/A-18E/F and EA-18G
- Develop test plans to test system requirements and system of systems performance
- Perform lab and ground tests to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
- Provide support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
- Track risks/issues/opportunities, tools, and technology readiness
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- An active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
- Electrical engineering experience
- Experience in avionics, electrical, and/or a mission systems role
- Experience developing or integrating avionics or mission systems
- Experience in Agile Software Development and JIRA
- Experience managing projects and utilizing standard project management tools
