Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Manage safety program and advise personal at organization about a variety of safety and occupational health subjects, issues, policies or procedures. Develop safety regulations and operating procedures to meet laws, requirements, and policies. Plan the work to be accomplished by subordinate personnel, set, and adjust short-term priorities, also prepare schedules for completion of work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13)
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

- Serves as a member of the Division Commander's personal staff and exercises primary responsibility for planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, evaluating.
- Supervising the Division's Safety Program and serving as technical safety advisor/consultant to the Division Command.
- Adapts/supplements safety directives from higher authority, closely coordinates with Corps, FORSCOM, and Army headquarters activities safety staff.
- Plans and directs the development, preparation, and publication of safety plans, regulations, statistical analyses/studies, awards programs, and special projects in effecting proper and unified direction and implementation of the safety program.
- Provides technical guidance and assistance to the Division Commander and other deployed commanders and staff officers.
- Ensures compliance with established criteria, mission goals, host nation/foreign policies, and risk management to accommodate situation unique to the location and environment

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is an EMERGENCY ESSENTIAL (E-E) position subject to deployment.
- Incumbent must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Incumbent will be required to DEPLOY (world-wide) with assigned/attached units for periods up 365 days. A physical examination for deployment is required.
- Incumbent will be required to pass a military standard physical examination. A pre-appointment physical examination is required.
- The military ACU is the duty uniform (when deployed, or in field environments). Incumbent will be issued standard TA-50 for use per local requirements.
- Incumbent must possess and be able to maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
- Incumbent must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Government Vehicle drivers license within 30 days of employment and be able to maintain the same.
- Incumbent may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays and/or irregular duty hours commensurate with mission requirements.
- Incumbent may be required to perform TDY up to 50% of the time on an annual basis.
- Incumbent is exposed on a regular and recurring basis to machines and equipment in operation, hazardous materials including compressed gases and flammable liquids, and construction hazards.
- Incumbent must frequently work outdoors with temperature extremes. Exposure to dust, high noise levels, wind, sand, and environments of fumes and smoke are encountered.
- Exposure to elements associated in combat and contingency operations in CONUS and OCONUS location. Employee may be required to perform work requiring chemical protective masks and protective clothing.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain standard Army Safety Program certification. Continuous education and training in a tactical field environment is required.
- Incumbent must be able to meet weapons qualifications requirements.
- Work involves frequent visits and temporary duty at field sites as well as deployment and participation in military exercises in a variety of environments.
- This mandates walking, standing, stooping, bending, carrying and similar movements, as well as agility, stamina, and dexterity.
- During deployment, physical demands may be greatly increased and require extended walking with a rucksack weighing up to 50 lbs. Rations and quarters may be similar to that provided to military personnel.
- This position has been designated a Testing Designated Position.
- May be required to complete a 1 year probationary period.
