Job Description

Akima Logistics Services is looking for a Supply Technician to join our Germany team. Apply today, to join our group of outstanding professionals!

Technical supply management work related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. Receives deliveries and checks against orders. Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates material management.
  • Ships, receives, inspects, stores, issues, and delivers a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Overseas tracking of materials necessary to maintain inventory targets.
  • Prepares lists required to develop purchase orders to obtain required materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Establishes appropriate material inventory levels and determines reorder points.
  • Determines method of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  • Works with little or no supervision and accomplish assignments in a timely, quality manner.
  • Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
  • Packs and unpacks items to be stocked on shelves in tool rooms, warehouses or storage yards.
  • Disposes of damaged or defective items or return them to vendors for repair.
  • Cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Receives and counts stock items and records data manually or using computer.
  • Examines and inspects stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damages to supervisors.
  • Marks stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools or other labeling equipment.
  • Verifies inventory computation by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigates discrepancies or adjusts errors.
  • Provides assistance or direction to other employees on the procedures.
  • Keeps records on the use or damage of stock and calibration of all equipment.
  • Determines proper storage methods, identification and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors and physical capabilities of facilities.
  • Recommends disposal of excess, defective or obsolete stock.
  • Issues or distributes materials, products, parts and supplies to customers or coworkers based on information from incoming requisitions.
  • Recommends for purchase new or additional stock or prepares documents that provide for such purchases.
  • Advises customers or internal users on the appropriateness of parts, supplies, or materials requested.
  • Prepares and maintains records and reports of inventories, shortages, shipments, expenditures and goods used or issued.
  • Prepares products, supplies, equipment or other items for use by adjusting, repairing or assembling them as necessary.
  • Compiles, reviews and maintains data from documents to assess needs.
  • Ships and receives parts and equipment, prepares for shipment and properly marks all items to include HAZMAT in support of typical aviation parts and maintenance requirements.
  • Supports receiving and shipping documentation and quality receiving inspections to include the forwarding of documents to the customer's point of contact.
  • Ensures all tools are available for maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management or leadership.

Qualifications

  • Completion of high school or equivalent.
  • Two (2) or more years of aviation warehouse/tool room support or like experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain/maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Basic knowledge of unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, etc.
  • Working knowledge of inventory and property management systems.
  • Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull a minimum of 50 lbs.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Four (4) years of experience in aviation tool room/warehouse supply.
  • Active Airframe & Powerplant license.
