Position Overview
The SATCOM Software Systems Specialist will support intelligence mission operations by
applying technical expertise in SATCOM systems, RF intelligence, mission management
software, signals collection, and digital communications analysis.
This role supports the planning and collection of signals data, research and analysis of
complex digital communications and application-layer protocols, and processing and
exploitation of signals collected from multiple sources.
The successful candidate will work across an integrated, multidisciplinary IC/DoD team and
regularly engage with senior executives, mission stakeholders, operational teams, and
technical organizations to provide requirements input, capability updates, operational
guidance, and project status briefings.
Key Responsibilities
SATCOM Mission Support & Signals Operations
Support planning, collection, processing, and exploitation of signals data from multiple
sources.
Apply RF intelligence and production-cycle knowledge to support mission understanding and
operational decision-making.
Develop actionable intelligence by analyzing technical mission data, communications
behavior, and operational context.
Support customer understanding of the operational environment through technical research
and analysis.
Digital Communications, Protocol Analysis & Exploitation
Perform research and analysis of complex digital communications and application-layer
protocols.
Support technical assessments of communications systems, signals, data flows, and mission
software behavior.
Identify relevant patterns, anomalies, and operational insights from collected signals data.
Collaborate with analysts, engineers, operators, and mission stakeholders to translate findings
into usable intelligence.
SATCOM Systems, TT&C & Mission Software
Support mission management software used for control and monitoring of SATCOM systems.
Apply knowledge of SATCOM systems, weapons systems, associated programs, and
modeling and simulation environments.
Support telemetry, tracking, and control activities related to SATCOM and mission systems.
Contribute to operational assessments of SATCOM capabilities, system performance, and
technical risks.
Stakeholder Engagement, Briefings & Mission Coordination
Prepare and present briefings on requirements, capabilities, project status, risks, and
operational guidance.
Engage effectively with senior executives, IC stakeholders, DoD partners, technical teams,
and operational users.
Support coordination across multidisciplinary organizations in a classified mission
environment.
Maintain familiarity with operational procedures, regulations, and stakeholder mission
priorities.
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum 14 years of relevant professional experience.
10+ years of experience with mission management software for control and monitoring of
SATCOM systems.
Experience with SATCOM systems, associated mission programs, and operational
environments.
Experience with RF intelligence, SIGINT, or signals production-cycle activities.
Experience supporting signals collection, processing, exploitation, or analysis.
Experience researching or analyzing digital communications and application-layer protocols.
Experience with telemetry, tracking, and control.
Exposure to data analysis and enterprise data systems.
Ability to brief senior executives and technical stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a secure, classified, multidisciplinary IC/DoD environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SATCOM and weapons systems.
Experience with modeling and simulation supporting SATCOM, RF, or mission systems.
Experience with enterprise data systems, mission data environments, or signals processing
platforms.
Experience supporting operational planning for collection of signals data.
Familiarity with IC and DoD mission procedures, regulations, and operational coordination.
Experience translating complex technical findings into actionable intelligence.
Strong written communication skills for technical reports, operational updates, and senior-level
briefings.
Relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, INCOSE, PMP, AWS, GIAC, or similar
credentials.
