Job Description
The Technical Operations Architect will serve as a primary technical operational architect
among USG, IC, DoD, and partner technical teams. This role bridges operational and analytic requirements with technology solutions across multiple technical domains. The architect will lead requirements definition, architecture development, CONOPS development, troubleshooting support, risk mitigation, technical reporting, and senior-level briefings.
The successful candidate will help move mission systems from development into operations
while ensuring secure, interoperable collaboration across classified stakeholder environments.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Operations, Architecture & Mission Alignment
Serve as a primary technical operations architect across USG, IC, DoD, and partner technical
teams.
Bridge operational and analytic requirements with practical technology solutions.
Lead architecture development across multiple technical domains.
Ensure technical solutions align with mission needs, operational constraints, and stakeholder
priorities.
Requirements, CONOPS & Development-to-Operations Transition
Lead requirements definition, requirements clarification, and requirements traceability
activities.
Develop and refine CONOPS, technical approaches, operational workflows, and
implementation concepts.
Support systems as they transition from development into operational use.
Identify gaps between user needs, analytic workflows, technical capabilities, and operational
deployment plans.
Troubleshooting, Risk Mitigation & Mission Support
Provide real-time troubleshooting and escalation support for mission-critical systems.
Identify, assess, document, and mitigate technical and operational risks.
Coordinate with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, acquisition, and mission stakeholders
to resolve issues.
Support secure, resilient, and interoperable mission operations across classified
environments.
Stakeholder Engagement, Reporting & Briefings
Advise and support liaison activities, capacity-building workshops, site visits, and tailored
engagements.
Produce technical reports, decision-support materials, project updates, and senior-level
briefings.
Facilitate collaboration across government, contractor, IC, DoD, and partner technical teams.
Communicate technical issues clearly to both senior leaders and technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of relevant experience, Master’s degree and 7+ years, or
PhD and 4+ years.
Experience with technical operations in classified or mission-critical environments.
Proven ability to shepherd systems from development into operations.
Experience translating operational and analytic requirements into technology solutions.
Experience leading or supporting requirements definition.
Experience developing technical architectures, solution approaches, or operational concepts.
Experience developing or supporting CONOPS.
Experience providing troubleshooting or escalation support for mission-critical systems.
Experience identifying and mitigating technical or operational risks.
Experience coordinating across USG, IC, DoD, or partner technical teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including senior-level technical briefings.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct IC, DoD, NRO, NGA, NSA, DIA, or national-security program experience.
Experience with secure interoperability, cross-domain collaboration, or classified mission
systems.
Experience in systems architecture, mission engineering, systems engineering, or enterprise
architecture.
Experience supporting technical exchange meetings, workshops, site visits, readiness
reviews, or stakeholder engagements.
Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps, systems development lifecycle, integration, test, and
deployment processes.
Experience with risk management, mission assurance, operational readiness, or transition-to
operations planning.
Experience preparing technical reports, executive briefings, architecture documentation,
CONOPS, SOPs, or decision briefs.
Relevant certifications such as PMP, INCOSE, Security+, CISSP, ITIL, TOGAF, SAFe, AWS,
or similar credentials.
