Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking a TS/SCI System Administrator to support a cutting-edge cyber research and development program. This position is ideal for a well-rounded IT professional who enjoys working across multiple technologies rather than specializing in a single discipline. The team is looking for a highly adaptable "jack-of-all-trades" administrator who can confidently support Windows systems, Linux environments, Cisco networking infrastructure, virtualization platforms, hardware troubleshooting, and general IT operations.
The environment is primarily Windows-based with a large Cisco footprint consisting of switches, firewalls, and communication infrastructure. The selected candidate will also support Linux-based systems, virtualized environments, legacy hardware, research labs, and specialized cyber testing environments. Responsibilities include system administration, provisioning and configuration of servers and workstations, patch management, infrastructure maintenance, troubleshooting complex technical issues, inventory management, and supporting secure classified environments.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys solving problems independently and is comfortable working on unfamiliar systems when needed. Successful candidates will be capable of troubleshooting issues across networking, system administration, virtualization, hardware, and operating systems without requiring extensive direction or ramp-up time.
Additional responsibilities may include:
• Supporting Windows and Linux server environments
• Managing VMware-based infrastructure
• Maintaining Cisco networking equipment and security appliances
• Executing and troubleshooting PowerShell and Bash scripts
• Supporting Git and Kubernetes environments from an administrative and maintenance perspective
• Applying patches, updates, and security baselines
• Assisting with configuration management and asset tracking
• Monitoring system and network performance across multiple lab environments
• Supporting cyber R&D activities and mission-critical infrastructure
This is a fully onsite role supporting a classified program. Candidates should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where versatility, initiative, and technical curiosity are highly valued.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Active Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure as a System Administrator
• Experience administering both Windows and Linux environments
• Experience with Cisco networking technologies, including switches, routers, and firewalls
• Experience troubleshooting server, workstation, network, and infrastructure issues independently
• Experience supporting physical and virtual environments, including VMware
• Ability to work effectively in a highly technical, mission-focused environment with minimal supervision
• Active Security+, Network+, or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 certification
$48hr to $64hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
