Required Skills & Experience
Active TS/SCI Clearance with ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.)
Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree)
2+ years of experience supporting RMF, eMASS, and STIG compliance activities
Experience supporting the accreditation, authorization, or continuous monitoring of classified (Secret or TS/SCI) information systems
Experience creating and maintaining security documentation including SSPs, POA&Ms, security assessment artifacts, and eMASS submissions
Experience conducting vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts using tools such as ACAS/Nessus
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience successfully supporting or leading the accreditation and ATO process for Top Secret or TS/SCI systems
Experience working in JWICS, SIPRNet, or other classified environments
Familiarity with NIST 800-53 security controls and DoD RMF requirements
Experience serving as an ISSO in a DoD or Intelligence Community environment
Knowledge of Xacta, HBSS, SCAP, or additional cybersecurity compliance tools
Experience coordinating directly with Authorizing Officials (AO), Security Control Assessors (SCA), and ISSMs during authorization efforts
CISSP, CAP, CASP+, or other advanced cybersecurity certifications preferred
Job Description
An employer is looking for a TSSCI ISSO to sit in Arlington, VA. The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) is responsible for establishing and enforcing security procedures in alignment with customer objectives and regulations. This role manages Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities, including development and maintenance of Body of Evidence documentation, System Security Plans (SSPs), and eMASS submissions to support system authorizations and continuous monitoring. The ISSO conducts security audits, ACAS scan and STIG (CKL) reviews, and ongoing security assessments to validate controls, identify vulnerabilities, and implement corrective actions across the system lifecycle. The role also includes maintaining ISSO team processes, supporting team efficiency efforts, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and the ISSM to ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in compliance with established policies.
Compensation:
$60/hr to $70/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
