Required Skills & Experience
- Active Top-Secret Clearance
- Strong hands-on experience OpenShift (Deployment, configuration, maintenance)
- 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, platform operations, system administration, or operational support within enterprise or classified environments
- Experience creating and executing runbooks and automation workflows
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, & Rundeck
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting/ leading enterprise-scale modernization and deployments
- Consulting background

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Top Secret OpenShift Engineer to support a high-impact Galaxy program within a complex, classified environment. This individual will play a critical role, deploying into dynamic environments to build, configure, and stabilize OpenShift infrastructure while ensuring reliability, availability, and integration with mission-critical applications. The role is highly hands-on, with a strong focus on leading deployments, creating and standardizing runbooks, and driving automation through tools such as Rundeck to support system administration, deployment workflows, and incident response. This engineer will serve as a key escalation point, troubleshooting complex issues across Kubernetes, Linux, and broader infrastructure layers, while leading break/fix efforts, performing root cause analysis, and restoring system functionality under time-sensitive conditions. In addition, the role requires maintaining security compliance within classified environments and collaborating cross-functionally to resolve issues spanning networking, storage, operating systems, and platform services. The ideal candidate is sharp, well-spoken, and proactive, with a strong consulting mindset, leadership mentality, and the ability to operate as both a technical lead and collaborative partner in a high-performing, mission-driven team.
