Job Title/LCAT: Network Engineer - Senior
Location: Hybrid/Washington, DC. There is an expectation that this role would be in the office initially, with the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid status of office/remote depending on the situation.
Clearance: No clearance required, must be a U.S. Citizen, cannot be a duel citizen. Candidate must be able to process for a "Public Trust T2" SEC clearance and pass a background check and drug screen.

Job Description:
The Network Engineer - Senior provides advanced network engineering support for the SEC enterprise network. This role leads complex troubleshooting, participates in network design and architecture decisions, and provides supervision and direction to support staff across SEC headquarters, data centers, and regional offices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Network Engineering and Architecture Support
• Perform day-to-day management of SEC data services including network design, implementation, and complex troubleshooting.
• Support Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) deployment and management via Catalyst Center.
• Engineer and maintain BGP, OSPF, and EVPN/VXLAN routing across enterprise and data center environments.
• Lead network infrastructure projects including code upgrades, device refresh, and technology migrations.
Supervision and Technical Leadership
• Provide daily supervision and technical direction to mid-level network staff.
• Serve as escalation point for complex network incidents requiring advanced diagnostic and resolution skills.
• Lead network-related change requests through the Change Control Board process.
• Mentor junior engineers on network engineering best practices, Cisco platforms, and SEC procedures.
Security and Compliance
• Support Cisco ISE (802.1X) network access control and zero-trust enforcement activities.
• Coordinate biannual network device code upgrades across 450+ devices to remediate vulnerabilities and maintain security policy.
• Ensure network configurations comply with SEC security baselines and NIST requirements.
• Maintain network security documentation and contribute to audit-readiness activities.
Automation and Optimization
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and Python scripts for network automation and configuration management.
• Support Infoblox Grid Manager administration for DNS, DHCP, and IPAM services.
• Analyze network performance metrics and recommend optimizations for capacity, resiliency, and throughput.
• Document network architecture, design decisions, and operational procedures.
