Job Title/LCAT: Network Engineer - Mid
Location: Hybrid/Washington, DC. There is an expectation that this role would be in the office initially, with the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid status of office/remote depending on the situation.
Clearance: No clearance required, must be a U.S. Citizen, cannot be a duel citizen. Candidate must be able to process for a "Public Trust T2" SEC clearance and pass a background check and drug screen.

Job Description:
The Network Engineer - Mid performs day-to-day network operations and management activities for the SEC enterprise network. This role utilizes a broad set of tools to design, manage, and maintain all aspects of data networking including routing, switching, and load balancing across SEC headquarters, data centers, and regional offices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Network Operations and Maintenance
• Perform day-to-day activities required to manage data services across the SEC enterprise network.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network devices including Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Support network change requests including VLAN configurations, port assignments, and access control list modifications.
• Participate in network code upgrades and firmware management following SEC change control processes.
Monitoring and Incident Response
• Monitor network performance using enterprise tools (SolarWinds, Spectrum, Datadog) and respond to alerts and degradations.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across LAN, WAN, and VPN environments for SEC headquarters and regional offices.
• Document network incidents, root causes, and resolutions in ServiceNow.
• Participate in incident bridges and coordinate with other infrastructure teams during network outages.
Design Support and Documentation
• Assist senior engineers with network design activities including capacity planning and architecture documentation.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, device inventories, and configuration documentation.
• Support Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM administration and maintenance activities.
• Contribute to network SOPs, runbooks, and operational documentation.
