Electronics Test Technician

Component-Level Troubleshooting & Defense Electronics

We are hiring a Senior Electronics Test Technician to support advanced defense electronics, prototype systems, and engineering test activities. This role involves component-level troubleshooting, electronics testing, analog and digital circuit diagnostics, power electronics repair, and engineering laboratory support using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, signal generators, and other electronic test equipment in a DoD environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform component-level troubleshooting and repair of analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic assemblies.
  • Analyze circuit schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to isolate and resolve electronic failures.
  • Utilize advanced electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, signal generators, digital multimeters, and related diagnostic tools.
  • Apply electronic theory including Ohm's Law, Kirchhoff's Laws, transistor theory, operational amplifiers, digital logic, and power conversion principles to troubleshoot complex electronic systems.
  • Identify and replace failed or out-of-spec electronic components including resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, integrated circuits (ICs), and power devices.
  • Conduct functional, performance, and environmental testing to verify repairs and system operation.
  • Document failure analysis, root cause investigations, repair actions, and test results within maintenance and quality systems.
  • Support engineering, production, and quality teams with technical troubleshooting and product validation.
  • Assist in developing troubleshooting procedures, repair documentation, and electronic test plans.
  • Support engineering activities including design verification, system checkout, prototype fabrication, modification, assembly, and testing of electromechanical systems, experimental circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment.
  • Fabricate simple electronic hardware and assemblies as required.


Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance preferred at hire; must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant electronics testing, troubleshooting, or repair experience.
  • Proven experience diagnosing and repairing electronic assemblies at the component level.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Analog circuits including amplifiers, filters, oscillators, and power supplies
    • Digital electronics including logic families, microcontrollers, and communication interfaces
    • Power electronics including linear regulators, switching power supplies, and motor drive circuits
  • Experience interpreting electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency using electronic diagnostic and laboratory test equipment.
  • Fundamental knowledge of electronics fabrication techniques and repair methods.
  • Strong computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic test systems.
  • Ability to fabricate simple hardware as required.
  • 1st Class FCC License and Solder Repair Certification may be required.

Prefe rred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience supporting defense, aerospace, military, or government electronics programs.
  • Experience supporting engineering laboratories, prototype development, or environmental testing.
  • Familiarity with quality documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
