System Administrator (Network-Focused) | TS/SCI Required
Overview
We are seeking a hands-on System Administrator with a strong focus on network operations to support a secure, on-premise lab environment. This role is ideal for someone who has broad IT exposure across networking, systems, and infrastructure, and can operate independently in a cleared environment. The position is primarily Windows-driven but requires working knowledge of Linux systems as well.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and administer Cisco-based network infrastructure (routers, switches, and related components)
• Support Windows-heavy environments, including server administration, domain support, and system maintenance
• Manage and maintain virtualized environments using Hyper-V, VMware, and Dell blade server infrastructure
• Perform system administration tasks across both Windows and Linux environments (RHEL/other Linux distributions in lab settings)
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot systems rather than building new pipelines or pushing code into development environments
• Execute and troubleshoot scripts (PowerShell and Bash) for system maintenance, automation, and configuration
• Apply system policies, perform updates, and manage configuration changes in controlled environments
• Support system lifecycle activities including patching, updating, baseline maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Assist with system inventory, configuration tracking, and overall environment stability
• Work independently within a secure, on-premise environment supporting mission-critical operations
Required Qualifications
• Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in system and/or network administration
• Strong experience with Cisco networking (routing, switching)
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server environments (primary focus)
• Working knowledge of Linux systems (basic administration and troubleshooting)
• Experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware) and server hardware (Dell blades)
• Experience running and troubleshooting scripts (PowerShell and/or Bash)
• Security+ or DoD 8140 baseline certification
• Ability to work independently in a cleared, on-prem environment
Preferred Background
• Prior military experience in IT/communications roles (e.g., 35T, 0671, or similar MOS)
• Experience supporting networks, servers, radios, or communications systems
• Familiarity with GitLab or similar tools (for maintenance, not development-focused work)
• Broad “jack-of-all-trades” IT background across networking, systems, and infrastructure
Nice to Have
• Experience with patching, STIGs, and secure baseline management
• Experience in air-gapped or classified environments
• Cisco certifications (CCNA or higher)
