Job Description

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid- 2-3 days onsite)
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst to support a large-scale federal program focused on application development and requirements management. This role will serve as a critical liaison between stakeholders and development teams, translating complex business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities
• Analyze and interpret detailed business requirements from multiple stakeholder groups (up to 10+ agencies)
• Review large-scale requirement documents (often 50+ pages) and break them down into structured, developer-ready specifications
• Collaborate closely with software developers to ensure requirements are clearly understood and accurately implemented
• Produce high-quality documentation in Microsoft Word, including functional specifications and supporting materials
• Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams
• Evaluate scenarios and provide thoughtful analysis during discussions and decision-making processes

Required Qualifications
• 2–3 years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information
• Experience working directly with software development teams
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working directly with developers and technical teams within an SDLC environment, including support of software releases or iterative development cycles
• Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured documentation such as specification documents, user guides, and requirement artifacts
• Ability to analyze, synthesize, and translate large, complex requirements and stakeholder input into actionable specifications
• Experience gathering and managing requirements across multiple stakeholders, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, requirements-heavy environments
• Ability to develop wireframes or mockups using tools such as Balsamiq, Figma, or similar
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both business stakeholders and technical audiences
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and analytical, with strong critical thinking skills
• Experience supporting federal or government-related projects is preferred
• Candidates must demonstrate authenticity in their experience, as resumes will be reviewed for AI-generated or inflated content

Additional Information
• This is not a financial analyst or administrative/note-taking role—candidates must have hands-on experience performing true analytical work
• Candidates should be prepared to discuss scenario-based (“what-if”) questions during the interview process
• Writing samples or demonstrated experience with documentation may be evaluated
