There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements, concepts of operations, and system architectures to develop clear and actionable system specifications.
- Lead system design and development activities, providing technical direction and ensuring alignment with mission needs.
- Advise users on requirement formulation, propose alternative approaches, and perform feasibility assessments.
- Provide leadership across requirements integration, system design, and technology implementation.
- Incorporate new system plans, designs, and technologies into existing operations.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture and design materials.
- Support system development and implementation planning through the creation or review of system engineering management and integration/test plans.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders to address technical issues, risks, and conflicts.
- Serve as the technical authority for systems engineering activities, deliverables, and overall integrity.
- Communicate project status, technical considerations, and risks to program staff, government representatives, and senior leaders.
- Monitor system health using dashboards (e.g., Grafana) to identify performance issues, bottlenecks, and resource utilization trends.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of production issues, including outages, unexpected behavior, and performance degradation.
- Document operating procedures, system configurations, best practices, and system topology.
- Coordinate requirements management, including stakeholder collaboration and breakdown of requirements into technical tasks.
- Track development timelines and report progress toward milestones and goals.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
- 14+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- An additional 5 years of systems engineering experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Experience developing and promoting standard operating procedures.
- Background in Agile development processes.
- Strong process orientation with a focus on successful deployments and deliverables.
- Experience with Scrum, including sprint planning and coordination.
- Ability to create and maintain documentation for system configurations, workflows, and support procedures.
- Proven collaboration with development teams and operational stakeholders to ensure successful requirement implementation.
- Experience engaging with customers to gather, refine, and prioritize requirements.
- Ability to triage and troubleshoot user-reported technical issues.
Desired:
- Lean Six Sigma or similar process-improvement certification.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, AWS, and microservice architectures.
