ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER (TITLE 32)

Duties

As a ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER (TITLE 32), WL-2602-11, you will serve as a working leader of three or more Electronic Measurement Equipment Mechanics, WG-2602-11.

Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:

• Serve as a working leader of three or more Electronic Measurement Equipment Mechanic positions.
• Ensure that needed plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
• Work along with other workers and sets pace performing non-supervisory repair work of the same kind and level as that done by the group led.
• Check work in progress and when finished for compliance with supervisor's instructions, work orders, and established shop procedures on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines; and direct or advise other workers to follow supervisor's instructions and to meet deadlines.
• Answer workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives.
• Provide information to the supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems.
• Set up system test sets and various types of test equipment such as frequency meters, standing wave ratio meters, radio frequency (RF) power meters, function/ arbitrary waveform generator, distortion analyzers, time frequency work stations, oscillators, voltmeters, electronic counters, oscilloscopes, attenuators, decade resistors and capacitors, signal generators, stroboscope, tachometers, pneumatic and hydraulic pressure standards and other physical and electronic tests.
• Diagnoses equipment, makes repairs, and replaces defective parts/components such as integrated circuits, printed circuit boards, electronic condition coils, radiation detector boards/circuits, crystals, transistors, tubes, transformers, condensers, diodes, relays potentiometers, and related components.

• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the Illinois National Guard and in the military grade listed in the announcement. Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), the only area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.

Military Grades: Enlisted/Warrant Officer - NTE CW2

GENERAL EXPERIENCE : MUST possess journeyman experience or training with basic application of operating principles such as the production and utilization of oscillations over a broad range of frequencies; signal and waveform behavior, distortion, and amplification; pulse, trigger, and synchronization techniques; digital/analog processing and data conversion techniques; and a variety of display and indication methods; experience in tracing signals and voltage paths, and skilled in the analysis of waveform characteristics such as timing, duration, frequency, and phasing; originates test set-ups to isolate malfunctions and check performance characteristics of special or unique test panels or mockups; experience in interpreting and applying a variety of technical electronic information such as schematic symbols, mathematical expressions and formulas, calibration procedures, and other reference materials; experience in applying established techniques and methods of repair, testing, alignment, and calibration of equipment, which serves as test equipment or precision measurement standards; experience in utilizing electronic circuits to measure electronic or electrical quantities to determine the performance characteristics and accuracy of other instruments and equipment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : WL-11 Level, must possess experience which includes, in addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series; ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment; ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series.
